TALLER CON SUSIE MONDAY , JULIA JARREL AND ART MARTINEZ

El sabado 2 de Octubre,29 maestros  ex  becarios  del programa CASS,se  reunieron en el Centro de Desarrollo Profesional de San Miguel, con el equipo de  Alamo CASS-SEED liderado por  Jullia  Jarrel, Sussie  Monday and  Arturo Martinez
los  participantes  en  su mayoria pertenecian  a los  tres  departamentos  de l a zona Oriental  a  excepcion  de las   profesaras Cristabel Amaya  y Margarita  Rivas  que se  unieron  al grupo  de maestros de  Oriente  desde  el departamento  de  Cabañas.
17 d elos  participantes  heramos  antiguos  becarios  de Alamo  Community College, 2  de  ellos  estaran  en Alamo en el  año 2011  y el resto eran ex  becarios de otros  colegios  de CASS

El proyecto  comenzo con la  presentacion de alguans  diapositivas en aprendizaje  creativo,los  maestros  fueron divididos en dos  grupos de  acuerdo  al nivel de enseñanza  de  Kinder  a tercero  y  de 4 a 8  grado  para  desarrollar diferentes  actividades

Los  4 objetivo s principales  de  la  jornada  fueron:

1. compartir  actividades  del alfabeto sensorial
2. identificar  materiales  y herramientas  que los maestros  usan en el aula
3. evaluar  la s conecciones  entre los materiales  y metodos d ela  formacion de  Alamo  CASS, teoria  y practica  , los procesos  d eAflatoun y los planes  de  estudio  que  los maestros  son responsables de  desarrollar

 Evaluar  como  pueden los  recursos  y medios  audiovisuales servir  d erecurso en el aula asi como el interes y habilidades de los maestros para utilizarlos en los  proyectos escolares
DESARROLLO DEL ALFABETO SENSORIAL CON MAESTROS DEL  NIVEL PRIMARIO
Pimero  se buscaron lineas se pintaron dibujaron lineas  en  tiras  de papel para  exponer  la creatividad  d e cada  participante, recopilar  color  faborito haciendo collage haciendo txturas  diferentes  en  carton en forma de  azulejos mismas actividades  que  pueden servir para la  introduccion  de vocabulario  nuevo
Los juegos probados  en las actividades  de grupo son  parte   de un enfoque  fundamental  que le da a los  docentes erramientas para  la enseñanza de un alfabeto que puedan practicar  tanto padres como hijos y el desarrollo d etrabajo creativo mientras se  enseñan  habilidades  d electura,escritura  y numeracion
El alfabeto sensorial reconoce que  todos  necesitamos practicar , reunir , crear y participar  en el  pensamiento  artistico y mas aun ahora que avanzamos  en un mundo de medios  d ecomunicacion mas  alla de la palabra  impresa

Este  taller fue  un gran dia  d erenovacion de amistad aprendizaje y desarrollo  de  conexiones

A Success Story

El SALVADOR SUCCESS STORY – CASS PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

Yacelin Isis Cordero, CASS Alamo Community College, 2008.   

Yacelin Cordero is a teacher in the afternoon cycle in the Centro Escolar Caton Miraflores, San Miguel department, with  350  rural students and 13 teachers.  Yacelin participated in the Social and Financial Education for Children and Youth Workshop in March organized by CIED for CASS teachers alumni.  And she has put what she learned into practice. She immediately documented the workshop in  her blog, which she has maintained since she studied in Alamo College (see  http://yacelinredaflatoumelsalvador.blogspot.com/).

Her blog contributed to creating a network among teachers and was a motivating force.  Yacelin is implementing the Aflatoun  pilot with three other teachers with 8^th grade.  After consulting with the school director, colleagues and parents, she introduced her students to Aflatoun methodology. And they loved it!  She formed an Aflatoun club with 28 students who have become very active social and financial entrepreneurs. Among the highlight of their accomplishments:

·       Microenterprise for school supplies: Students had a problem of losing their school supplies such as pencils and notebooks. They started a microenterprise that buys and sells pencils and notebook paper to each other. The first purchase was of one dozen of pencils. Now the microenterprise is selling not only to the Aflatoun members but to the whole school. As a result, students now take care of their pencils and losing pencils has been reduced. Students have gained an appreciation of their school materials.

·       Fair and selling goods: Students have organized several activities with the support of their parents to raise funds for social activities in the school.

·       A clean school: With the profits from the microenterprise, the Aflatoun Club bought cleaning supplies which the school lacked. They have become the cleaning squad. 

·       Environmental excursion: After selling food successfully, students organized an environmental excursion to Juayua (ver http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juay%C3%BAa). As a result, the students learned about how a fun trip could become an educational opportunity to learn about conservation. They also learned about how to take care of their own garbage while traveling.

·       Savings: The club has saved $183. They keep their savings at the school. 

·       Leadership: The group of students in the club have been recognized by Supérate, a program that provides scholarship to youth and encourages then to compete to enter their education program. (See previous post.)

·       Children’s rights and responsibilities: The group is informing the school about rights and responsibilities of children through theater. The group has a theatrical performance for each right.  They have found ways to motivate students to practice new skills and to develop their artistic talent while disseminating information useful to all the kids in schools.

Yacelin comments that the Aflatoun methodology has been a great tool to make students aware of how much they can contribute with their own resources to make their learning and their school fun, just by encouraging their social and financial entrepreneurial potential.

El  taller   de  seguimiento y evaluacion al programa piloto de  educacion  social  y financiera, tuvo  lugar  los  días 25, 26 y 27 de septiembre  del 2010,como novedad  en este  taller  además  de  los  maestros  salvadoreños  que  hemos  desarrollado el  concepto  Aflatoun contamos  con la  participacion  de  personas importantes  para  el desarrollo de la  educacion no solo  en Centro  América  sino  en América Latina.
Tuvimos  el honor  de compartir  con la  Sra. Gloria Almeida coordinadora programa profesionales CASS, CIED Universidad de Georgetown,, Julia Jarrell Coordinadora de Álamo  Communnity  College,Arturo Martinez  de Cass Semilla  , San Antonio Tx., Sussie  Monday Dra  en Artes  de Álamo Community College, Christopher Shirley Director Programas Profesionales CASS ,Centro para la Educacion Intercultural y el Desarrollo (CIED),Universidad de Georgetown, Lic. Alfredo Bonilla coordinador de  Becas Cass Semilla El Salvador Romy Escamilla,Asesora Nacional de Seguridad Económica Familiar,Plan Internacional. Docentes  de Guatemala:Sonia Soto,Carlos Choc,Gloria Xitamul y de  Jalisco México  la  profesora Ciria Guevara Fue  una  experiencia  gratificante  compartir  con el equipo  de trabajo  todas las  experiencias  vividas  durante  los 6  meses  que lleva Aflatoun  en las  Aulas;

Aflatoun  tiene  entre  sus  objetivos  que jovenes  y niños  conozcan y valoren  sus derechos  y concientes de esta importante labor  introduce  en cada uno de los  libros  los  derechos  del niños  y la niña.

En el Centro Escolar Canton Miraflores la  manera  de  darlos   a conocer  fue  mediante la tecnica 

de  dramatizacion, en equipos cada grupo elegia y dramatizaba el  derecho que  le correspondia estudiar.

Fue  una labor muy divertida

Excursion Aflatoun

Parte  de las  actividades  del  programa  Aflatoun  es promover  las excursiones  educativas, en nuestra  institucion  realizamos  una  excursion  a  Juayua  departamento de  Sonsonate para  que los  estud  paiantes  recorran y conozcan  parte de lo que  en nuestro pais  se  conoce como RUTA  DE LAS  FLORES y  al mismo tiempo  pudimos  recaudar  fondos  de  ahorro  para  nuestro  club

Pero  mejor  disfrute  con nosotros  algunas  fotos  de  la  excursion

El  destino  fue largo , recorrimos  practicamente  todo el pais  pero al final   valio  la  pena  porque  pudimos  disfrutar   de  un hermoso  paraje

Hubo   que  caminar  y hacer marabares  pero  valio la  pena
